SeaWorks is active in logistics and logistical advices
This commitment drives us to attend events beyond our immediate transportation mandates. Recently, we had the opportunity to attend the Afrika Agri Forum, organized by the RVO, a Dutch governmental support organization. The event was held at a historic fortress in the Netherlands and provided valuable insights into the agricultural and biomass advancements taking place on the African continent.
We were particularly inspired by the stories of African Bambo and Lono of Cote d’Ivoire. These companies have started local initiatives that foster a circular economy by bringing different parties together. For instance, they use natural fertilizers for fruit growers and convert poultry slaughter waste and manure into biogas for households. This innovation reduces the need for tree cutting, thereby preventing erosion.
These initiatives are turning into thriving enterprises that not only contribute to the local economy but also demonstrate significant growth in turnover. Mature economies, where vegetables and fruits are typically grown in greenhouses, can learn a lot from these African developments. The future of fresh produce lies in Africa, and companies involved in logistics must recognize the impending changes to the logistical chain.
We left the Afrika Agri Forum feeling inspired and grateful. We extend our thanks to the organizers and the entrepreneurs who shared their impactful stories with us.
